Stephano Slack Partner Stanley A. Wielgus, CPA was recently recognized by The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) as a lifetime member for his 40 years of membership and leadership in the CPA profession.
Stan has not only devoted his distinguished career to the success and growth of the businesses he’s worked with, but also in offering support and guidance to the next generation of CPAs. “Belonging to the PICPA has been rewarding over the years. From their educational seminars, technical resources, legislative input and even their benefit programs, the PICPA has been a valuable ally in the practice of public accounting,” shares Stan Wielgus on his recognition.
His unique perspective and approach to his work was cultivated by his rich experience as CPA: from his public sector work at the IRS to his unparalleled role at Stephano Slack, specializing in providing clients with financial statement reporting, income and estate tax planning, income tax compliance, and start-up entity selection and structuring services.
As the longest member of the Stephano Slack team, Stan is a natural mentor to his colleagues and other professionals, offering valuable insight especially to the younger staff.
A happily married husband for 41 years, Stan proudly considers raising his two sons with his lovely wife as his most rewarding mission in life and is currently enjoying his new role as a grandpa to his first granddaughter. He has also actively been doing philanthropic work for more than 22 years as a trustee and the treasurer of the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in memory of Otho Davis, head athletic trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1973-1995, which provides scholarship for students studying sports medicine, sports marketing, or related fields.
His volunteer work also includes a four-year stint as a treasurer/board member at Holy Child Academy of Drexel Hill and 10 years for the Josias Sterling Memorial Fund.
Stan holds a B.A. in Accounting from Drexel University and an M.S.T. from Widener University.
